Trying new things especially when it comes to food, can be a total nerve-wracking experience. It is undeniable that when a restaurant caters a “foreign cuisine”, well let’s say a “Chinese cuisine”, a sudden cringe can be felt due to its unusual tastes and its pricey cost. Sometimes, we can’t help to think that it can only be for their locals alone to indulge and devour. Cebu as a welcoming place bans inclusivity. In fact, Yue Rong Xuan, a newly opened Chinese resto in Lahug, Cebu city has totally broken the barriers by embracing everyone with their savory meals; from seafoods to meat and from juices to beers.

“The simple rule of having spicy food is that you don’t have to eat the spiciest, but you have to make sure that it is the most savory and tasty”

THE AMBIENCE — The name itself is a place in China, which means a happy place – a happy place indeed! The backyard ambiance was very uplifting, has an inviting and festive feels with it. The colors were vibrant along with the Oriental inspired graffitis which showcased the culture of China. What made it even more exciting are the drum barrels painted with different flags. It symbolizes welcoming of every nationalities, not to mention its ingenious design with compartment and outlet that is way too convenient for guests. Also, plants and trees circumscribe the area that made it feel suave at the same time. The inside ambiance has a classy feels with intricately designed features from ceiling, to walls, from chairs to tables and even the tablewares making it a fine-dining experience.

EXPERIENCE + FRIENDS — I’d spoiled myself so much these days, but Yue Rong Xuan Cebu was one I never had regrets with. Suffice to say I’d widened up my food selections this time and was able to devour plenty more food than the usual – more than what I could handle, quite frankly. This place definitely gives a wholesome experience on Chinese and Asian spicy cuisine. As such, it is definitely a must-try for its delectable offerings. Can’t wait to be back!
